The dataset of the judicial cantons and arrondissements represents the geographical subdivisions used in the organization of the courts. The dataset was digitized based on the definitions in the ‘Judicial Code – Annex: Definition of jurisdiction and seat of courts and tribunals’, which is managed by the FPS Justice.

The dataset consists of 3 feature types, including the boundaries of the judicial cantons [judicialcanton] and arrondissements [judicialarrondissement]. Each judicial canton has at least one peace court [peacecourt], which also constitutes an object type in the dataset.

L'ensemble de données des cantons et arrondissements judiciaires représente les subdivisions géographiques utilisées pour l'organisation des juridictions. Ces données ont été digitalisées conformément aux définitions de ‘Code Judiciaire – Annexe: Limites territoriales et siege des cours et tribunaux’, gérée par le SPF Justice.

L'ensemble de données comprend 3 types d’objects, dont les limites des cantons judiciaires [judicialcanton] et des arrondissements [judicialarrondissement]. Chaque canton judiciaire compte au moins une justice de paix [peacecourt].

De dataset van de gerechtelijke kantons en arrondissementen stelt de geografische onderverdelingen voor die gebruikt worden bij de organisatie van de rechtbanken. De dataset werd gedigitaliseerd op basis van de definities in het ‘Gerechtelijke Wetboek – Bijvoegsel: Gebiedsomschrijving en zetel van hoven en rechtbanken’, dat wordt beheerd door de FOD Justitie.

De dataset bestaat uit 3 objecttypes, namelijk de grenzen van de gerechtelijke kantons [judicialcanton] en arrondissementen [judicialarrondissement]. Elk gerechtelijk kanton heeft ten minste één vredegerecht [peacecourt], dat ook een objecttype vormt in de dataset.
