This dataset corresponds to the urban renewal area (URA). This zone brings together disadvantaged neighborhoods where the public sector increases its investments. This zone was designated by the Brussels-Capital Region with the aim of improving residents’ quality of life and socio-economic integration, and of creating a new dynamic for the development of the local economy. A first zone was defined in 2016. The boundaries were revised in 2019 and 2026, and this new URA has been in effect since September 2026.

Ce jeu de données correspond à la zone de revitalisation urbaine (ZRU). Celle-ci rassemble des quartiers en difficulté où le secteur public renforce ses investissements. Cette zone a été déterminée par la Région de Bruxelles-Capitale en vue d’améliorer la qualité de vie et l’insertion socio-économique des habitants, et de créer une nouvelle dynamique de développement de l’économie locale. Une première zone a été définie en 2016. Le périmètre a été revu en 2019 et en 2026. Cette nouvelle ZRU est d’application depuis septembre 2026.

Deze dataset komt overeen met de zone voor stedelijke herwaardering (ZSH). Deze zone verenigt wijken die het moeilijk hebben. Het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest verhoogt zijn investeringen in deze zone om er de levenskwaliteit en de sociaaleconomische participatie van de bewoners te verbeteren. Het Gewest wil er de plaatselijke economie een nieuwe dynamiek geven. In 2016 werd een eerste zone afgebakend. De grenzen werden in 2019 en in 2026 herzien. Deze nieuwe ZSH is sinds september 2026 van kracht.

Statement Généralités sur la provenance Algemene beschrijving herkomst: A study conducted by perspective.brussels in 2026 redefined the 2020 urban renewal area. Its neighborhoods were selected on the basis of socio-economic criteria that reflect the level of deprivation. The three statistical indicators are:

- an unemployment rate higher than the regional average,

- a median income lower than the regional average,

- a population density higher than the regional average.

These indicators are calculated at the level of the statistical sector (the most detailed scale), which makes their updating easier. Perspective.brussels is responsible for updating the URA, in collaboration with the IBSA/BISA, and for producing studies to monitor its evolution.

Une étude menée par perspective.brussels en 2026 a redéfini la zone de revitalisation urbaine de 2020. Ses quartiers ont été sélectionnés sur base de critères socio-économiques, représentatifs du niveau de précarité. Les trois indicateurs statistiques sont :

- le taux de chômage supérieur à la moyenne régionale,

- le revenu médian inférieur à la moyenne régionale,

- la densité de population supérieure à la moyenne régionale.

Ces indicateurs sont calculés au niveau du secteur statistique (échelle la plus fine), ce qui facilite leur mise à jour. Perspective.brussels est en charge des mises à jour de la ZRU, en collaboration avec l’IBSA, et de l’élaboration d’études pour le suivi de son évolution.

Een studie die in 2026 door perspective.brussels werd uitgevoerd, heeft de stedelijke herwaarderingszone van 2020 herdefinieerd. De wijken van de zone werden geselecteerd op basis van sociaaleconomische criteria die de kwetsbaarheid ervan uitdrukken. De drie statistische indicatoren zijn:

- een hogere werkloosheid dan het gewestelijke gemiddelde,

- een lager mediaan inkomen dan het gewestelijke gemiddelde,

- een hogere bevolkingsdichtheid dan het gewestelijke gemiddelde.

Deze indicatoren worden berekend op het niveau van de statistische sector (fijnste schaal), waardoor ze vlotter kunnen worden bijgewerkt. Perspective.brussels staat in voor de updates van de ZSH, in samenwerking met het BISA, en voert studies uit om de evolutie van de zone op te volgen.
