This would strengthen the link between public space, water and nature. The objective of this feasibility study was to: -identify the land on the canal that could be transformed into quality public spaces ; -evaluate the technical and spatial constraints to investigate the possibilities of greening the banks, both on the banks themselves and on the waterway. Suite à une demande du Gouvernement de la Région bruxelloise et dans le cadre du BKP, une étude supplémentaire a été réalisée en 2020 pour étudier la possibilité d’abaisser et de verdir les berges du canal. Cela renforcerait le lien entre l’espace public, l’eau et la nature. L’objectif de cette étude de faisabilité était de : -identifier les terrains du canal qui pourraient être transformés en espaces publics de qualité ; -évaluer les contraintes techniques et spatiales pour étudier les possibilités d’écologisation des berges, tant sur les rives elles-mêmes que sur la voie navigable. Op verzoek van de Brusselse gewestregering en in het kader van het BKP is in 2020 een aanvullende studie uitgevoerd om de mogelijkheid van verlaging en vergroening van de kanaaloevers te onderzoeken. Dit zou de band tussen openbare ruimte, water en natuur versterken. Het doel van deze haalbaarheidsstudie was: -vaststellen welke terreinen aan het kanaal kunnen worden omgevormd tot hoogwaardige openbare ruimten ; -de technische en ruimtelijke beperkingen te evalueren de mogelijkheden te onderzoeken om de oevers te vergroenen, zowel op de oevers zelf als op de waterweg.
